Residents from Northern New Jersey and the New York City area were invited and welcomed by CFG Residency Outreach team members, Carmelyn Vedar and Teddy Costa, with no shortage of support from Physician Placement Specialist, Karly Settle. The outstanding service, food, and drink provided by MSG weren’t all that gave Residents value in attending. Conversations with CFG’s very own physicians – Dr. Patrick Cleary, Dr. Sarabjit Singh, and Dr. Ruby Abraham sparked many questions from the Residents about the real-life experience of psychiatry within CFG Health Network’s many different practice settings. Ron DeFeo, Executive Director of Hospital Services, was there to give Residents further, in-depth background of our hospital systems.
Although the Knicks couldn’t generate many points (Final Score 129-92, Denver Nuggets Win), those in attendance still came out with a win. On top of conversing with CFG staff, Residents took much interest throughout the night in meeting one another, many for the first time. Some New York hospitals and residencies may be close-by in proximity to each other, but Residents from different programs rarely have the opportunity to assemble like this in one place and time – and at a venue such as MSG, the gathering was amplified in good spirits and company.
Many of the Residents had the same question; “When can we get together again like this?” This was a fun, successful night for everyone. Some made new connections and friends, most got to spend the evening away from work stress with colleagues, and all left room for getting together once again in the future. CFG is thankful to all of these residents for making time in their schedules to come out with such enthusiasm on a Thursday night.
