Rabina Joshi, CRNP, PMHNP-BC, CNRN, RN
Residency Cohort: April 20206
Rabina Joshi is a compassionate nurse and psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner whose life and career have been shaped by resilience, service, and a deep respect for human dignity. Born in Nepal, she built her foundation in psychology with a Bachelor of Arts from UC San Diego, followed by her BSN at Johns Hopkins School of Nursing and PMHNP training at the University of Pennsylvania. Along the way, her research passion shone through NIH fellowships on alcohol abuse (NIAAA) and UCSD School of Medicine studies on PTSD and ASD. From neuroscience nursing to psychiatric patients across the life span at community mental health centers, hospice care, geriatric psychiatry, and refugee support, she guides families through illness, grief, transitions, stigma, and healing—always listening deeply, honoring each story, and affirming that comfort, dignity, and connection matter most, even in hardship.
Why did you choose this residency program?
“I chose the Center for Family Guidance Post Graduate APN Residency Program because it offers comprehensive, hands-on psychiatric training supported by a strong didactic curriculum that will deepen my clinical knowledge and strengthen my practice. I value the opportunity to learn closely with experienced supervisors, gain confidence through direct guidance, and be part of a selective program that truly invests in its residents. I am especially drawn to CFG’s commitment to improving quality of life for individuals and families through innovative behavioral health services. I value the chance to train in a setting that supports autonomy, critical thinking, and lifelong learning while preparing APNs for long-term success in psychiatric practice.”
