The Psychiatric Post Graduate APN Program at Center For Family Guidance, PC

The training faculty members of Center for Family Guidance are committed to the education of psychiatric APNs and wish to prepare these APNs to function as well-qualified, intellectual thinkers within their prescribing patterns. We believe that APNs require training in the logic behind their prescription choices, operational excellence, and developing their leadership style. Our role as educators is to instill participants with those traits essential to success including honesty and integrity, objectivity, self-motivation, curiosity, timeliness, and a sense of responsibility.

The Psychiatric Post Graduate APN Program is a two year training program. This unique program exposes recent APN graduates to a wide range of experiences led by outstanding clinicians. Our program fosters critical thinking, autonomy and lifelong learning. You will be amongst a small select group of recent graduates that have been given an opportunity to work with diverse populations in various settings alongside CFG’s faculty members while being compensated. At the end of the program you are placed in the program of your choice as available.

"I appreciated that I spent the months waiting for licensure learning and preparing for the new role I was about to step into. I can’t recommend this residency enough. Martha Pearson is an exceptional teacher and leader, and the confidence and knowledge I have gained from this training has given me a strong foundation as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner."
Anna Marks, resident in the CFG Post Graduate APN Program
"Participating in CFG's APN Residency allowed me the opportunity to further develop the theoretical foundation that my educational training had provided by creating a low ratio, high investment learning environment with the direction and support of a well-established and experienced Clinical Nurse Educator to gain the confidence, knowledge base and critical thinking skills necessary to become a safe and effective independent provider."
Janan McCormick, resident in the CFG Post Graduate APN Program
